The 4th Agriculture and Forestry Council, which plays a key role in shaping the future of Türkiye’s agricultural and food policies, was held in Ankara between April 28–30, 2025, with wide participation from across the sector.
Coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Council brought together a broad stakeholder network including public institutions, academia, private sector representatives, NGOs, and producer organizations. The outputs of the working groups formed during the process were shared with the public throughout the Council.
A total of 17 thematic working groups focused on key issues such as plant and animal production, rural development, agricultural marketing, water management, food security, and climate change adaptation.
As MEYED, we proudly contributed our expertise in agriculture-based industry and presented sectoral solution proposals under the following topics:
– Agri-Based Industry, Inventory Management and Logistics
– Food Security, Safety, and Food Loss Prevention
– Agricultural Marketing and Financing
We are honored to have taken part in this inclusive and solution-oriented dialogue process, sharing concrete proposals on the role of the food industry in sustainable development.
We sincerely thank the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and all stakeholders involved, and we look forward to the Council decisions to be announced on May 14 – Farmers’ Day, hoping they will bring positive outcomes for our country.
