As one of Türkiye’s most established and strategic agriculture-based industries, the fruit juice sector stands out not only for its economic impact, but also for its social and environmental contributions across the entire value chain—from production to consumption.
In a comprehensive interview published in the April 2025 issue of Food Technology Magazine, MEYED outlined the sector’s widespread production infrastructure and its role in promoting sustainable development. Today, approximately 10% of Türkiye’s annual fruit harvest is processed in 45 factories across 18 provinces, forming a critical link in supporting rural development and transforming farmers’ labor into economic value.
With double-digit export growth each year and an average foreign trade surplus of 95%, Türkiye continues to strengthen its global competitiveness in fruit juice exports. High-tech production facilities, a skilled workforce, and sustainable supply chains all contribute to a holistic value system that centers farmers, producers, and consumers.
The interview also highlights that Türkiye’s rich fruit variety allows agricultural products to be processed into 4 to 7 times more economic value, underlining the industry’s strategic contribution to the national economy.
